Who we cater for
A large proportion of our customer base is now within the heavy industry.
At G Filer Engineering, we understand the need for things to be done properly, quickly and safely.
We are able to provide a wide variety of services to our clients and are fully insured and maintain training throughout our staff.
We cater for all industrial metal needs including:
- Machining component parts
- Solid compressed air lines
- Ducting and extraction
- Security fencing
- Protective cages
- Fabrication work
- Stud removal
- Emergency repairs/out of hours
With the decline of industry, many of the traditional trades are slowly dying out. At G Filer Engineering, we still practice many nearly forgotten trades and we are passionate about keeping them alive.
We can provide the following services such as:
- Hot riveting
- Cast iron welding
- Hand flanging and forging
Our Roots
Vintage Steam
For over 30 years, the Filer family have had a strong involvement with steam preservation.
Using all traditional methods, we hand flange and rivet all of our boilers restoring them to ‘as new’ condition.
As well as boiler repairs, our extensive large capacity machine shop has enabled us to make every part of a steam engine. From a compound crank to a differential, or even just a fusible plug.
From small repairs to complete rebuilds, and, to go even further, M G Filer Ltd has embarked on making three full-sized new-build steam lorries.
